La nouvelle est tombée!

Le nouveau directeur de la "James Randi Educational Foundation" (JREF) n'est nul autre que le Dr. Phil "The Bad Astronomer" Plait. James Randi en profitera pour écrire des livres et il restera président du Conseil d'Administration de la fondation.

Sur son Blog, Phil Plait a écrit (là):

There is no way I can replace Randi, or fill his shoes, or even be moderately Amazing. I won’t even try. Happily, I don’t need to: he will continue to work with the JREF, guiding the Foundation as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. There is a lot of Randi in the JREF, and of the JREF in Randi, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

James Randi a maintenant 80 ans: même s'il ne prend pas sa retraite, il est clair qu'il prépare le moment où il ne sera plus là. Phil Plait semble un excellent choix, de par sa formation d'astronome, son talent pour la vulgarisation scientifique et sa capacité à démystifier les nombreux mythes relatifs à l'espace. Nul doute qu'il emmènera le JREF vers de nouveaux horizons...
